Instant Pot sesame ginger wings are tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, and coated in a bold homemade sesame ginger glaze. Finished under the broiler for that classic wing texture, they’re an easy crowd-pleasing appetizer for game day or parties.

These Instant Pot sesame ginger wings make it easy to get flavorful, crispy wings without deep frying. The wings cook quickly in the Instant Pot, then are tossed in a sweet and savory sesame ginger glaze before being broiled to crisp up the skin.

They’re perfect for game day, parties, or casual gatherings when you want an appetizer that feels special but doesn’t require a lot of hands-on time. The pressure cooker keeps the wings juicy, while the broiler step gives you that irresistible crispy finish.

Ingredient notes and substitutions

  • Chicken wings: Be sure to get the party wings, not regular chicken wings.
  • Gochujang: I use the sauce, which is milder than the paste. If you want spicier wings, you can use the paste.
  • Soy sauce: I like to use lite soy sauce in recipes because it has less sodium, but you can use regular if you prefer.

Step 9: Broil the wings until browned and crispy on the edges, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 10: Flip with tongs and cook on the other side until browned, 3-5 minutes longer.

Step 11: Transfer the wings to a platter to serve and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Tips

  • Broiling: It’s important to move the oven rack so that it isn’t right up against the heating element. If it’s too close, it can scorch the sauce.
  • Spicy: If you want the wings to have to have some heat, use gochujang paste, not sauce.

Serving suggestions

The wings make a great appetizer or can be eaten as a main dish. If serving as a main dish, I recommend serving with steamed or fried rice, noodles, or sauteed vegetables like broccoli or green beans.

Storage

Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep for about 3 days when properly stored in the fridge.
