Step 5: Stir in 1/2 cup of broth or water, and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.

Step 6: Layer in the fresh tortellini, marinara, and Italian seasoning.

Step 7: Pour the remaining 1 ½ cups broth or water into the marinara jar. Close it, and shake it. Pour the contents into the inner pot. Do not stir.

Step 8: Close and lock the lid. Press manual high pressure and adjust the cooking time to 0 minutes. Be sure the pressure release valve is set to sealing. It should take about 10 minutes to come to pressure.

Step 9: Once the cooking time has finished, carefully turn the pressure release valve to venting to release the pressure.

Tips

  • Scraping the inner pot: It’s important to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot to avoid a burn warning.
  • Stirring: The reason that you don’t want to stir the pasta up before cooking is because the tomato will cause a burn warning.

Serving suggestions

I like to serve the tortellini topped with either mozzarella or parmesan cheese. I serve a fresh green salad and garlic bread or breadsticks on the side.

Storage

Store any leftover tortellini in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep for 3-4 days when properly stored in the fridge.
