These Instant Pot ground beef gyros are a short-cut way to enjoy a yummy Greek-inspired dinner on weeknights. While they aren't authentic, they are easy and delicious!

The meat is also great for meal prep, and it makes great leftovers because it tastes even better the next day.

    Toppings and substitutions

    • Ground beef - I like to use 85-90% lean ground beef. Ground turkey or ground chicken would also work. If using ground turkey or chicken, you may need to add a tablespoon of olive oil before browning.
    • White onion - Yellow onion will also work.
    • Garlic - Feel free to add more garlic if you prefer.
    • Beef broth - I like to use reduced-sodium beef broth to control the salt levels.
    • Oregano
    • Greek seasoning - I use Cavender's Greek seasoning.
    • Red wine vinegar

How to make Instant Pot ground beef gyros

Press SAUTE.  When HOT, add the ground beef to the inner pot.

Add the beef broth, and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Sprinkle the oregano, Greek seasoning, and red wine vinegar over the beef.

Close and lock the lid. Press MANUAL high pressure and adjust the time to 5 minutes.

When the cooking time has ended, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes. Carefully release any remaining pressure by turning the pressure release valve to VENTING.

    Topping ideas

The toppings add another layer of deliciousness! Here are some topping ideas:

    • Tzatziki
    • Feta cheese
    • Sliced red onion
    • Sliced cucumber
    • Sliced tomato
    • Lettuce

    Storage

The ground beef mixture keeps well, and the flavors may be even better the second day. Any leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.

It will keep for up to 4 days when properly stored.
