Do I have to use frozen noodles?

Yes, using thick frozen noodles will keep them from overcooking. Dry egg noodles, or similar dry pasta, will be really overcooked in this recipe.

What type of frozen noodles work well in this recipe?

I like to use Reames frozen homestyle egg noodles.

Do I have to use stew meat?

No, you can cut a boneless beef chuck roast, or similar cut of beef, into 1-inch cubes instead of using beef stew meat.

Storage

Store any leftover beef and noodles in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The beef and noodles will keep for up to 4 days when properly store in the fridge.

Tip >> The noodles will continue to absorb some of the liquid as they sit. You’ll need to add more broth when you reheat.

Hi Kate! This recipe is exactly what I was seeking. One question, how do you get your frozen noodles so NICELY separated? Mine always from the grocer somewhat stuck together. I can’t wait to serve this! Thank you.

    1. Hi! That’s great! I just give the bag a few squeezes to break the noodles up. I hope that helps!
