Ingredients

lean ground turkey

cup
diced onion

diced green bell pepper
or any color of bell pepper

garlic

chicken broth or veggie broth

cup
ketchup

tablespoons
tomato paste

tablespoons
Worcestershire sauce
1
tablespoon
brown sugar
1
teaspoon
yellow mustard
Salt & ground black pepper
to taste
Optional: 2 - 3 drops liquid smoke

Instructions
Press sauté on the Instant Pot.
When it reads “hot”, add the ground turkey. Cook, stirring regularly, until no longer pink.
Stir in the diced onion and diced bell pepper.
Cook, stirring regularly, for 2-3 minutes.
Add the garlic, and cook, stirring the entire time, for 30 seconds.
Press cancel.
Stir in the broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Add the ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper, and liquid smoke, if using. Do not stir.
Close and lock the lid. Be sure that the pressure release valve is set to sealing.
Press manual high pressure and adjust the cooking time to 5 minutes.
Once the cooking time has finished, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes.
Carefully turn the pressure release valve to venting.
Unlock and remove the lid.
Give everything a good stir.
Serve on buns.
Notes
Veggies:
Feel free to use an additional cup of bell pepper if you'd like.
Broth:
I like to use reduced-sodium broth.
Brown sugar:
You can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
